MetaMuse Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This policy explains how MetaMuse collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you visit metamuse.marketing or use our marketing workspace, Startup Advisor, account, and support features. It includes Google Sign-In and optional Google Drive imports.
Who operates MetaMuse
MetaMuse is operated by MetaMuse LLC, 16192 Coastal Hwy, Lewes, DE 19958, USA. For privacy questions or requests, email info@metamuse.marketing. We are responsible for the personal information we process to operate the service. Please upload or share information about other people only when you have authority to do so.
Information we collect
- Account information: Email address, username, account identifiers, verification and authentication records, and account preferences. Email/password accounts use a password hash; we do not store the password as readable text. Google account information is described separately below.
- Workspace and conversation content: The prompts, messages, business and founder context, project details, feedback, briefs, ideas, and AI responses that you provide or generate. We save this information with your account, project, or Advisor conversation so you can continue your work.
- Files you choose: Uploaded or imported PDF and image content, and supported Google documents exported for import. We also record source information such as file name, type, size, selected Drive file identifier, processing status, and which account, project, or conversation the attachment belongs to.
- Billing and support information: Subscription, customer, payment-status and transaction references, and messages you send to support. Stripe handles payment details; MetaMuse does not store your full payment-card number.
- Technical information: IP addresses, browser and device information, request and error logs, timestamps, security events, and service usage needed to operate, protect, and bill for the service. Optional website analytics are described below.
Google Sign-In data and permissions
When you choose Google Sign-In, we request basic profile and email permissions. Google supplies your account identifier, email address and verification status, and available basic profile information such as your name or profile image. We use this to authenticate you and connect you with your MetaMuse account. We retain the account identifier and verified email used for the account; we do not request or receive your Google password. Signing in does not grant access to your Google Drive files, Gmail messages, or contacts.
Google Drive access and selected files
Only when you choose a Google Drive attachment do we request the per-file drive.file permission and open Google's file picker. MetaMuse downloads only the supported files you select for that feature, not your entire Drive. Supported selections include PDF, PNG, JPEG, WebP, Google Docs, and Google Slides; Docs and Slides are exported as PDF for import. We receive the selected file's content and metadata such as its name, type, size, and Google file identifier. We do not use this feature to modify or delete the original files in your Google Drive.
We keep the imported copy in private Google Cloud storage and link its metadata to your account and the selected marketing project or Advisor conversation. Importing creates a snapshot, not continuous background synchronization. The temporary Google access token is used to fetch your selections and is not saved in the MetaMuse database.
Google data in AI requests and outputs
Relevant messages and selected file content are sent to Google Gemini to answer your request. Original attachments are used in the Marketing Brief or Startup Advisor workflow where you attached them. Approved written briefs and other derived text may be used in later creative stages. Original attachment files are not sent to Creative Brief or Creative Ideas stages or exposed through public review links.
Gemini may create temporary provider-side file copies to process your attachments. Research features can also use Google Search grounding or retrieve public pages you reference, using relevant prompt context and search terms to produce the requested research. Under Google's Gemini API terms, Search grounding can retain prompts, context, and outputs for 30 days for debugging and testing the systems supporting that feature. Provider security and abuse-prevention processing also applies under those terms.
MetaMuse uses Google data only to provide the features you request. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated third-party sharing, or use it to train general-purpose AI models. Google data and derived content are shared only as needed for these service features, at your direction through a sharing feature, for security, or to comply with law. MetaMuse personnel do not read imported Google content without your affirmative permission for specific support access, except when necessary for security or legal compliance.
Revoking Google access and deleting imported data
You can revoke MetaMuse's authorization in your Google Account permissions. This stops future authorized access; it does not delete files already imported into MetaMuse or answers produced from them. Deleting the original file in Google Drive also does not erase the imported snapshot. Use the attachment removal control in MetaMuse to stop future file-based use and request deletion of the stored original and associated AI file copies. Contact us to request removal of other stored content or account data. Legal, security, and backup-retention limitations are described in the main policy.
Google API Services User Data Policy and Limited Use
MetaMuse's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Why we use your information
- To create and authenticate your account and save your work.
- To answer your requests, process your chosen files, and generate marketing briefs, creative briefs, ideas, and Advisor responses.
- To manage subscriptions, payments, usage allowances, and account verification, password-reset, billing, and service emails.
- To respond to support and privacy requests, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, protect accounts, and meet legal obligations.
Customer conversations, uploaded files, and Google Drive imports are used only to deliver the requested service. MetaMuse does not sell this content, use it for advertising, use it to train general-purpose AI models, or share it for unrelated third-party purposes. Service processing includes the AI and infrastructure providers described in this policy.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to provide the service you request, for legitimate interests in security and support, to meet legal obligations, or with your consent where required, including optional analytics. Google permissions are requested when you choose the relevant feature. This policy does not replace those permission or consent choices.
Service providers and sharing
- Google Cloud and Google Gemini: Host and process account and workspace data, databases, private attachments, logs, and AI requests and responses to deliver the service. Gemini may receive relevant conversation context and file content for the feature you request, as described above.
- Stripe: Processes checkout, payments, and subscription management, including the billing information you provide and the account references needed to connect a payment with your MetaMuse account.
- Zoho Mail: Delivers account and service emails and handles support correspondence, including recipient email addresses and the relevant message content.
- Google Analytics, if enabled and accepted:Processes website visit and device information for optional analytics. Workspace conversations and file contents are not supplied to it for advertising.
Providers receive information needed for their role. They may also process limited service records for security, abuse prevention, and legal obligations under their applicable terms. We may disclose necessary information to comply with law or protect the service. MetaMuse personnel access customer content only with your permission for support, or when necessary for security or legal compliance.
If you create or distribute a project review link, recipients can see the outputs exposed by that link. Written outputs can include information derived from your prompts or attachments. Original attachments are not included in public review links. Review the content before sharing; recipients can keep copies of information you disclose to them.
Storage, retention, and deletion
We retain account, workspace, conversation, and attachment data to provide ongoing access to your work until it is removed or an account-deletion request is completed. Archiving or hiding work does not erase it. Necessary billing, security, legal records, and backups may be retained for their applicable purposes and retention periods; they are not used for unrelated purposes.
Removing an attachment excludes it from future file-based requests and starts deletion of its stored original and associated AI file copies. Temporary failures can require a retry. Removal does not rewrite earlier messages or generated outputs that already contain information from the file, and limited source or deletion records may remain.
In your account page, under Privacy and account data, choose Request account deletion to submit a request. This is a reviewed request, not immediate deletion: we check account ownership, billing, shared work, and any retention obligations. You may also email us to request deletion of specific content or account data. We explain any information that must be retained and handle requests within the time required by applicable law. Backup copies may remain until their normal retention expires.
Cookies and optional analytics
Necessary cookies and browser storage support sign-in, security, preferences, and your cookie-consent choice. If website analytics are configured, Google Analytics is loaded only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner. You can reject optional analytics and still use the service. Analytics may measure visits, pages, browser and device details, and interactions with the public website.
You can manage or delete cookies in your browser. Clearing this site's saved consent choice lets you choose again when the banner reappears. Blocking necessary cookies can prevent sign-in or other features from working.
Security and international processing
We use encrypted network connections, private file storage, authenticated access controls, and account ownership checks to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security. Contact us promptly if you believe your account or data has been exposed.
Our service providers may process information in countries outside your country of residence. Where required by applicable law, transfers are subject to appropriate contractual and other safeguards. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully performed. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. To exercise a right, email info@metamuse.marketing; we may verify your identity before disclosing or changing account information. You can request account deletion and revoke Google permissions using the controls described above.
Children and external websites
MetaMuse is intended for professional and business use, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate. External websites and services linked from MetaMuse have their own privacy policies.
Policy changes and contact
This update explains the service's existing data flows and controls. We will keep the date on this page current and give notice of material changes through the service or email where appropriate. If a change introduces a new use of Google user data, we will request any required consent before that use begins.
